Top Ten Tuesday #80

Hosted by the Broke and the Bookish!

Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving
Under My Tree This Year

Before I start, let me thank Creative Market for having freebies every week. They have had some very good holiday ones, which is what I used for my graphic today! (Seriously, take advantage of those weekly freebies!)

So, this TTT is really "All the books Val wants and will 100% buy after Christmas and NOT buy them off Amazon tomorrow because Christmas hasn't happened yet and what happens if her presents were the books she bought off of Amazon and then there would be DUPLICATES and Val would feel bad and everyone would just sigh."

So Santa. I want all the books. I hope that is not a problem. Yes? No? Too bad.

There is actually a decent amount of diversity in genre when you look at my ultimate wishlist (which I came up with in the past 10 minutes. Don't worry Dad you didn't have to get me any of these, maybe).

First, Holly has been urging me to read Play On, which is CONTEMPORARY. As you all know, I'm not a huge fan of contemporary, but I will make the exception because I've been hearing wonderful things about the author.

And then there's the normal WWII book for the WWII obsessed reader. Ely swears she will disown me if I don't read Anne Frank next year!

In preparation for Remembrance, I will be collecting all the books in the Mediator series. So I need #2 next, and then the rest onwards.

WINTER. NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. It will be read soon. Definitely early next year.

I read an eARC of Blue Lily, Lily Blue, but in preparation of The Raven King (!!!), I need this book physically to complete my collection of it. I don't know if you have noticed, but I tend to buy books I have already read just because I need complete series.

Nimona is a graphic novel, and it was nominated in the Goodreads Best Books of 2015. I think it's the same artist as Adventure Time (??), so it definitely needs checking out.

I also need my Batgirl. I also need the first volume.

I read The Kiss of Deception and loved it, so now I need to buy The Heart of Betrayal. Or I guess I could wait until the library gets a copy and put it on hold. If I buy the second book, I HAVE to have a copy of the first book as well.

So this is a weird one, but I've been meaning to get into poetry for a long time now, but never knew where to start. Someone recommended me Catalog of Unabashed Attitude, and it is SO COLORFUL. The theme is life on the farm and in the countryside, I'm pretty sure.

Lastly, who doesn't want Heir of Fire? I mean sure, haven't read Crown of Midnight yet, but might as well complete my collection now.

How about you? What do you want Santa to bring you? (Yes he is real). Did you discover anything new on my list? Maybe add that to YOUR list? Or TBR, that works too

I'd really like to get Nimona too. I read some of the Lumberjanes graphic novels by Noelle Stevenson and really enjoyed them. Plus, I would love hard copies of the Raven Cycle because even though I adore the series, I don't have any hard copies...

I hope you'll receive them :D

Yessss! I really need to read Anne Frank too! I've started it several times, but I don't know why I never end up finishing it...I borrowed BLLB from the library, so don't have a physical copy yet either. :( Though I did just win a giveaway and chose it as my prize, so that's super exciting! I NEED THE RAVEN KING SO BADLY! But at the same time, I really don't want the series to end. I'd also love a copy of The Heart of Betrayal so that I can binge read both TKoD and THoB. Merry Christmas, Val! :D

I'm desperately hoping that Winter is under my Christmas tree! I'm pretty sure my sister bought it for me so there you go :) And Christmas also gives me an excuse to buy MYSELF books haha.

You need Heart of Betrayal, so you can also need Kiss of Deception. I found KoD on Book Outlet for like $2.99 last year, so you should be able to get it cheaply. I also need to get BLLB, though I proooobably should read Dream Thieves first, no? And buy HoF because it is pretty. So very pretty. ::Pets the green prettiness::

Yes! I need Winter in my life too! I've been waaaaay to lazy with reading that in 2015, so 2016 I will definitely get it read.

Also, thank you so much for recommending Creative Market. Your graphic is so lovely! So much love for it!

Of course Santa is real! Hehe, I have been taking advantage of those Creative Market freebies as well!! I look forward to every Monday :D I have started marathoning The Raven Cycle (am currently 150 pages into The Raven Boys and I love it so much already!). Cannot wait to catch up with the rest of the world and await The Raven King's release! I hope you get hold of Winter soon! It's my favourite YA release of this year and was a wonderful and completely satisfying finale! Merry Christmas, Val!

Um, SAME.

I've been wanting Play On & The Diary Of Anne Frank forever now. Also, The Mediator series because I've never once read it and Meg Cabot writes magic. Batgirl sounds super cool, too! I requested Wonder Woman on NG a few weeks ago and pretty much denied in the same second. lollll. My TBR continues to grow and continues to grow monstrously. It's seriously impossible to narrow it down. hahaha.

One of my book club reads is Nimona...and I've never really been into graphic novels so this should be interesting! I hope you enjoy your winter holiday and READ a lot! Also, you'll have to tell me how Winter goes!

You really need to buy Heart of Betrayal!! That one is my FAVORITE so far. TKOD was great, but THOB is even better. I have BLLB, and the detail is gorgeous! Definitely one to purchase. Happy Holidays <3
