Top Ten Tuesday #68

Hosted by the Broke and the Bookish!

Top Ten Books That Would Be On Your Syllabus If You Taught "Survival 101"

Well this is a fitting topic to the start of the school year. I'm actually really excited to attend classes again, though I'm sure I'll regret saying that 2 weeks in. Oh well.

My class is the place to be! We live in a dangerous world, and in order to be adequately prepared (or at least attempt to be prepared), Survival 101 will teach you how to survive in almost ANY dangerous situation, whether it's a dystopia, an apocalypse, or a man-eating bug ATTACK! Get ready for the syllabus!

Do you have the guts to take this class? Will you survive?

I am in love with this list. Survival things make me happy. And now I want to read the books I haven't read even more. And I have lots to add for extra credit ;) OH- and no, I would not survive. Not any of these.

I really love your topic! Plus, it's so well organized and thought out.

First of all, I already love your list because you included Written in Red. Which is probably my favorite book ever. I want to read all of the books on your list! Especially Rose Under Fire and Red Rising.

Great list!

You have the most awesome list!!! Love this so much and so many I want to read. And I would fail this class horribly. I couldn't survive a night in my backyard let alone any of the above situations!!!

VALERIE, LOOK AT YOU GETTING ALL FANCY WITH YOUR INFOGRAPHICS AGAIN. Seriously though, I opened this and almost died from the gorgeousness. Can you make these all the time? I would so totally take this class, I love survival stories! Also, you'd be like the most awesome teacher ever...that's how this works right?

Okay so I haven't read a good a majority of these books but I LOVE the idea you did in this post. It's hilarious makes me want to read the books so bad. The organ harvest one cracked me up but I know this is actually serious haha. ALSO I JUST READ THESE BROKEN STARS. SO TRUE.

I love how you organized your list like an actual syllabus with objectives! I also really like the uniqueness of your course, good work Val, and please sign me up lol

I've only read the Hunger Games and Unwind, so it looks like I have some work cut out for me lol

This was such a cool idea! I would probably die by week two, let's be honest. I was really excited to see Mosquitoland on your list, though. I love that book, and it's way under-appreciated.

Oh Rose Under Fire!!! I was going to say Code name Verity would be good but . . . yeah. Guess not LOL. Both those books broke my heart though either way

Omg, I clearly need Week 8 because I have NO IDEA how to survive man-sized preying mantises. And that'll totally be a thing in the apocalypse. *nods* I AM DOWN TO SURVIVE WEEK THREE. I COULD DO IT. I'D GRAB SOME SNACKS AND HIDE OUT IN THE WOODS.
Love the post and the graphics Val! This is a class I would definitely join, there's nothing more important than learning how to survive non-humans, asteroid hits and being a lowly Red! So much fun :)

Your top ten is definitely the most organized one I've seen. The problem is I really want to read a few of the books on it and I can't tell what book it is from the cover. That makes me sad.
This is a clever take on this week's TTT topic, and I love how you included various types of survival, not exclusively post-apocalyptic/dystopia. (Also, your graphics are on point.) I've only read a few books from this list, but your week one pick sounds intriguing. *seraches Goodreads*
Katniss would be a great teacher for survival. We All Looked Up is like mental preparation xD Nice picks, I love how you organized this post, so creative ;)
