Stacking the Shelves #30

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I borrowed Denton Little's Deathdate on a whim, and I am glad I did. I have already read this and enjoyed it immensely!

I've been meaning to pick up another book by Catherynne M. Valente, but haven't done so until now, which is why I borrowed Deathless. I am excited for some Russian folklore based stories!

I know that the Iron Fey series is never ending, but I figured that I should at least finish the main trilogy. I don't know. I just WANT to finish the series since I started it, so here I am with The Iron Queen.

I have heard a lot of a lot of good things about Melissa Keil, so when I found one of her books at the library, Life In Outer Space, I borrowed it right away!

As for graphic novels, I had Ms. Marvel on hold, and I HAVE read this volume! Though it wasn't until recently that I found out the library had all three volumes, I just didn't know! Next time I will borrowing the rest of the series!

NOT SHOWN: Reawakened by Colleen Houck. I just finished reading this 5 minutes ago! It was a fun read, even though I did have minor issues with it!

LAST WEEK OF SUMMER! HOW???

Well let's be honest I am very excited to get back to classes and not work full-time hours. I am ready to see some of my friends that have been gone the entire summer, especially since I have friends in all of my classes.

Other than that, I am mainly looking forward to getting work over with, my car tire fixed, and to have a great new semester. It also looks like I'll be working two jobs this semester, which means I'll be more busy than usual, but at least I'll have some extra cash rolling in. You know, for when I decide to switch over to Wordpress.

Remember how I mentioned that I was having trouble recruiting children? Well since I recruited at the zoo, I've gotten three lab appointments for next week! As of then, I will have 10 children recorded! And my goal was 16! Plus I recently dropped off consent forms at a daycare, and they were very willing to pass them out to parents. Soon, my project will come to an end, recruiting wise!

So yep. I think things are looking up. Though I should wait until tomorrow before I say that, aha.

How was your week?

MS MARVEL YES. DID YOU LOVE IT? DID YOU? DID YOU? *dances*

Also, I love the sound of Deathless. I shall eagerly await your review. Then I'll probably buy, let's be honest. You are a bad influence, Valerieeee.

Glad your recruiting is going well!! I really need to get to Denton Little's Deathdate. I think it sounds adorable (can a book about death be adorable??). I also won Reawakened so I hope to get to that one soon. I hope you enjoy all your new books!

Ahhh so happy that your week is going well! ^^ I'm generally the same as you at the end of holiday. I would be sad that holiday is over but so excited to see my friends and return to our usual routine :D And you're gonna switch to WP? It will feel weird at first because there are some different things but asdfdsgdfhs trust me you will love it! <3 3

I love that you're sharing your library haul - we need more library hauls out there. I haven't read any Julie Kagawa but I really want to! sounds like you like that series? I"m glad you had a good week and I also feel like this summer went by SO FAST! I almost wish i had school coming up as a change in pace... but alas I have entered the "real world" (not to insinuate that school isn't real... but you know what I mean!). PS - I've always had Wordpress and I love it! But I also don't really know anything else. I guess I did use blogger for my very first blog but that lasted all of like 5 posts, so I didn't have much experience with it.

I think I'm going to go hide in a corner right now because I haven't heard of any of the books you've mentioned. But I'll definitely have to pick them up if you decide you like them! And yeah for having friends in your classes - that always makes things so much better. ;) Thanks for sharing and fabulous recap! <3

My gosh you are a hard worker Val! Sounds like you're kind of relieved in getting back to your usual routine. Ms Marvel was definitely enjoyable, can't wait to hear what you think of it! I haven't read Denton's Little Deathdate yet but it is on my TBR this month, hope I'll pick it up soon.

Woot, woot! Congrats on finally having significant progress on your lab work, Val! Looks like the children are finally learning to trust you ;) Mehehe! But seriously, I'm happy that this project is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully it all goes smoothly from now on.

AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME YOU HAVE READ REAWAKENED!!! When you have time to go online on GChat, you must tell me all about it - what is it that you liked, disliked, had problems with, and if you're going to the arena over Amon with me! HAHAHA

I hope you like The Iron Queen. I read those books years and years ago but I loved them! Good luck with school starting back up! :D

I know right? My kids are moaning and groaning about having only less than two weeks before school starts. The weather hasn't been helping much, either. It'd been a blustery, rainy weekend.

Love this picture!

Denton Little's Deathdate sounds wonderful! I hope you like the rest of the Iron Fae series. I read book 1, and it was pretty interesting. Whoa two jobs?! You're so committed!! Ooh a switch to wordpress? So exciting! :)

I love Denton Little. LOVE. I cannot wait to read the next one. Glad that recruiting children is going well. I was thinking, and I hope that no one in this project is like, a creepy old man. You know, Val comes up to you at the zoo and wants to record your kids, and everything is copacetic, but creepster in a van comes to the zoo... well you get the idea. Life In Outer Space sounds really good, you must let me know all about it :)
