Top Ten Tuesday #96 (Featuring My Cat)

Hosted by the Broke and the Bookish!

Ten Characters I Would Name A Cat After

Featuring, my cat, whose name is Primrose. You know, from The Hunger Games.

Look, I'm not a Shannon. I'm not a HUGE fan of The Hunger Games (sorry Shannon), but even I couldn't change my cat's name after I adopted her. Why? Well she LOOKED like a Primrose. Sweet, adorable, and well, sometimes she is a little bad. But what can I do.

Let's start shall we? If I were to rename Primrose, here are the character names I would pick! Accompanied by pictures, of course!

Liesel from The Book Thief

Because Primrose loves me books. More specifically, rubbing her face on the corners and occasionally trying to take a bite out of them.

Look at how sinister and sassy she looks in this picture.

Noah from The Raven Boys

You know, if Prim was a boy cat. Also look at her, hiding from the world.

Just your usual scratching. She's secretly mischievous and does things I don't want her to do. Speak of the devil, I just heard something fall in the kitchen.

Miles from Made You Up

Again, if Prim were a boy. Apparently cats like being in boxes because it serves as a place away from stress, anxiety, and overall petting.

Lena from Metaltown

I don't even like the Lena from Metaltown, but Shannon's daughter is named Lena and she is my best friend and of course I would name someone after her.

Aza Ray from Magonia

Prim is no bird person, but her eyes change from adorably cute to this. It's a big enough change for me. Also Aza is a cute name.

"Verity" from Code Name Verity

Verity is such an elegant, deep name. Like Primrose! But maybe more for older and more mature cats, rather than this squish right here.

Levi from Fangirl

I think Levi would make a great fish name. And I guess a cat name too.

Do you have a cat? Or a pet? What would you name them?

Pretty cat! Confession: I clicked cause I wanted to see your cat :)
I wanted to name my cat Georgina (call her Georgie) after one of my favorite book characters but when we got to the shelter my traitor boyfriend and kids ended up wanting a by cat... so I wanted Baymax but I got vetoed for Zeus.

I like Liesel and Levi!! They are all pretty good though. Our dog is named after a TV show reference. Maybe our next can be literary based :)

Oh, I love Verity! I have 6 cats and only one has a literary name. She's named Mercy from the Mercy Thompson series. :) I plan to name all future pets after HP characters!

Great names, but Primrose really does seem to suit her. She's a really beautiful cat, she has the most adorable little face and markings.

Your cat is the absolute cutest! I have a little (I guess she's not that little, she's getting quite big) black and white kitten named Mittens because her little white paws look like mittens. I almost named her Winter after The Lunar Chronicles, but decided to just call her Mittens instead. My family also has a red healer named Aussie! I have all sorts of names for my future cats though that you can see here: http://glitteringreads.com/2016/10/18/ten-wonderf...

Ohh I like so many of these names!! I really like the name Primrose too though hehe.😂 Although I'd probably shorten it to Rose instead of Prim like in the books? I always thought Prim was going to be stuckup because, you know....prim and proper?! hehe. OH I LOVE THE NAME MILES AND NOAH. And also Aza Ray is amazing, even if I didn't love that book. 🙈🙊
And I named my dog Atticus (To Kill a Mockingbird) Bean (Ender's Game) so...yes, the literary nerdiness has struck me big time.😂

This is legitimately THE cutest post in the history of posts. She IS a Primrose, no question. I also think that Mogget is the cutest name ever and I want to name something that. Little Prim, being adorable. I love her. I named Charlie after Charlie on Friends. Idk, she just looked like a Charlie to me. If I had another cat... Idk what I would name it. Probably Mogget because I like it. And its middle name would be Valerie- male or female, it works. Mogget Valerie. What a cute hypothetical cat.

Cutie little cat, and yes, the name is perfect!

Aww, Primrose is gorgeous! Did Shannon name her though as a trade off for you stealing her children. You can tell us, you're among friends Val.

I have a dog called Jessie. Yes, he's a boy with a girl's name but it suits him because he's a very pretty boy who's a little flamboyant. I shouldn't be allowed to name pets. When Jessie was a few weeks old and we ere waiting to pick him up to bring home, I researched names for dogs. Stupid me didn't realise that I was looking at the list for female.dog names. So our furbaby will forever be teased for having a chicks name.

So many great kitty names, but Primose is also a great choice! Also, your cat is adorable.
My recent post Reset
Mogget, yes! But then I fear people would just shorten it to Mog or Moggy and then it has lost its significance.

One of our cats is called Luna, after Luna Lovegood :)

Prim is SO CUTE, VALERIE. YOU HAVE BEEN BLESSED BY THE CAT GODS. I MEAN, LOOK AT THOSE PHOTOS. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE AND JUST AHHH.

I love your alternate name choices, by the way. They are all lovely. Tis too hard to pick just one name for our fur babies, I say!

My kitty's name is Figaro, from Pinocchio, which actually suits him quite well. Figgy (his nickname) has never, ever grown up. And since Pinocchio is only a snap shot film, and the Figaro in that is a kitten, I feel like this name was meant to be.

I would love a white kitty, to called it Kimba (from Kimba the White Lion, because childhood loves and all that). Also Mulder and Scully for a bonded pair. And Merlin and Arthur, OBVIOUSLY. I just need to adopt all the cats, obviously, just so I can name them cute things ;D
