Ten Finished Series I Have Yet To Finish

At first glance, I would say I have all the series to finish, but then this also deals with finished series, and I'll admit that I rarely start old series. I'm pretty distracted by the shiny and new books, and all of those end up becoming series. Well at least I am caught up ;)

All series will be linked up to their first book!

The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa - I am actually in the middle of finishing the last book in the "trilogy". Though I have heard that she is still writing books for this world, so I'm not sure if this actually counts as "finished". But I am just going to say it is anyways.
The Grisha by Leigh Bardugo - I read Shadow and Bone, but then ended up not continuing with Siege and Storm even though I physically HAVE the book. I just keep putting it off and I am not sure why, because I loved the first book. I guess I just have to be super motivated? Maybe in October when things are less hectic.

Earth Girl by Janet Edwards - I think at this point the third and last book in the trilogy has come out (Today!). I know this is weird for me to list this here, especially since I'm not a huge fan of Jarra, but I already read the second book, so I feel like my time would be wasted if I just didn't finish the series.

Splintered by A. G. Howard - Again, I read the first book, Splintered, but just never read the next book. And I've even taken Unhinged out from the library twice, and returned it without reading it. Maybe third time's the charm?

Abhorsen by Garth Nix - This makes me sad that I haven't even read the last book in this series, oh and I guess Clariel at this point too. I keep telling myself that I will buy the entire series with matching covers and then I'll reread it all, but I don't know if that will happen anytime soon.

Unwind Dystology by Neal Shusterman - Shannon will be glad to hear that I am going to finish reading this series. Shannon will not be glad to hear that it isn't exactly a high priority on my list, but it WILL happen. I promise.

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson - Oh I almost forgot about this! I still need to read the last book in the trilogy, The Hero of Ages. Again I know Sanderson is still writing this series, but I'm mainly referring to the original trilogy!

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi - After reading the first book and not liking it as much, I have still been encouraged to continue with the series, because apparently it gets so much better. I probably will still read on, but maybe next year? Depends on whether the books go on sale or something haha.

Saga by Brian K. Vaughan - I'M COUNTING THIS. Last I stopped was Volume 5, but unfortunately my library doesn't have it? So I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to get to finish the last couple of volumes. I am devastated. (Oh it's going to release on Sept. 9th! The paperback collection!)

Inkheart by Cornelia Funke - I read the first and the second book in the trilogy, and started the third but then I ended up getting bored and distracted. So I have them all (I think I still do?) and I do want to reread them again because the first book is my childhood favorite!

Do you get distracted by newer series? Do you finish series if you're far ahead in them, even though you didn't like one of the books?

The Grisha series is one of my favorites. The character development grows with each book! I have not seen the Splintered series, but I just put it on my Goodreads TBR list based on your description. Have a great week.

Thanks! I do need to finish the Grisha series then! gahhhhh. And yes Splintered (the first book) was very enjoyable! Hope you get to it soon :)
Splintered and Unwind were both on my list too - I've read the first two of Splintered and the first of Unwind, but not yet got around to reading the sequels. Lots of the series you've listed here, I have yet to even start, but I have finished the Abhorsen series. I loved the books when I read them years ago but I think Clariel suffered from the fact it'd been so long since I read the others, so your idea of re-reading them might be a good one!

Glad you loved the Abhorsen series! I just want to reread them all, in anticipation for that final book, and also Clariel. But I have heard that Clariel isn't as good as the original trilogy, which I mean makes sense because it's not featuring any old characters, but what can you do.
You definitely need to finish the Grisha trilogy and The Hero of Ages! I don't think this is a common opinion, but Siege and Storm is actually my favorite book of the Grisha trilogy, so I hope you enjoy it when you do have the chance! I understand the struggle of getting distracted by newer books though!

I think that is a pretty common opinion! I HAVE SIEGE AND STORM. I should get to it but gahhhh so much to doooooo. I can't keep putting it off though, then I would remember nothing from Shadow and Bone :P
Yes, read Ignite Me. Well, also read Unravel Me but you know what I mean. The only other one I've finished is the Iron Fey series and I do not know how I survived all four books because I hated the first three. I respect your strength when it comes to reading those ;)

YES I KNOW. I will read them all!

Omg I do not know how I survived the first three. And yes I did end up finishing the Iron Queen. Thank you for respecting my strength ahahah.....haha... <3
The thing with series is that sometimes the first book is just okay, but they get so much better as the books go on. So sometimes even though I don't like the first books I try to read the next one. If by then I don't get into it then I don't bother wasting my time. There are so many other books that I want to get to.
Of the books you have listed I've read the Grisha trilogy, and the Shatter Me trilogy. The Grisha Trilogy is one my favorites. I loved all the books, and I can't wait to read Six of Crows. I know it's not the same characters, but it's in the same world. The Shatter Me trilogy is one of those that I almost considered a guilty pleasure. I loved it more for the relationship between characters and the romance, not so much for what was actually going on.

Yeah that's true! Though I do find that sometimes books suffer from second book syndrome (I feel like this is a thing? Excuse me if I just made this up and you have no idea what I'm talking about). But then once I read the second book, I have to finish the series. So yeah it's a never ending cycle.

I love that everyone loves the Grisha trilogy! It makes me want to read it now, even though I have no time.
You must finish the Splintered series, even though I haven't. Lol. But I loved the first two. Hope you get around to these!

HAHAHAH ok there Jazmen. I do need to read Unhinged. One day.
The Shatter Me series is on my list too! I've read the firsts two, but I just never got around to the third book. Now I've waited so long that I can't remember what happened in the other books, so I'm going to wait longer and forget more...a vicious cycle.

SO MANY BOOKS SO LITTLE TIME!!!

That's a horrible cycle. Maybe when you DO get to it, you can check if they have a recap on Recaptains? (google it if you don't know the blog!) Anyways, YES SO LITTLE TIME.
So please don't tell me Saga is over with Vol. 5, or is it continuing and that's why you say you are counting it? I had a mini heart attack thinking it was done done. I have Vol. 5 on pre-order already. I don't want it to ever end. :D :D

And I'm not finishing the Grisha series, we didn't get along. But, I am going to finish Earth Girl! I have Earth Star from the library right now.

I THOUGHT IT WAS???? I mean I was just assuming it was because only 30 single chapters are on Goodreads. And with the publications of paperbacks, and the fact that paperback #5 looks like it will smush all the storylines together, I am assuming it is the end??????? I'M SORRY (Especially if I end up being wrong)

And yay! Can't wait to see what you think of Earth Star (seriously.) Hahah :)
I am SO RELIEVED to see Shadow & Bone on someone else's list haha. I feel like I am seriously the lone person on the planet who hasn't finished it yet :/

Oh Saga <3 I just bought this on the weekend and binge read the entire first 4 volumes... I am obsessed! Luckily the 5th one releases tomorrow so I shan't have to wait much longer :)

NO YOU ARE NOTTTTTT.....

And yeah now I can find it at the library! SO I AM EXCITED. Or at least request it I suppose :)
I've been doing that a lot lately! It depends, I can keep on reading a series even if I didn't like a book in it as long as something in it fascinate me or if I didn't hate it too much. Also, sometimes, if I read positive reviews about the rest of the series, it makes me want to keep on reading. If you didn't like Shatter Me much, I'm not sure you should bother trying to read Unravel Me. I actually really liked Shatter Me and at the beginning of this week I started Unravel Me. So far, this book is painful to read. I'm considering DNFing it. Juliette is so annoying and her Relationship with Adam annoys me. It's like those two haven't noticed that there are more important things than their love life. Kenji is amazing, though. Sometimes, I Wonder how such a great character can be in such a dreadful story, lol.

Awwww. Well the only reason I would read Unravel Me is because my friends are making me, but that won't happen in a while. But still, I'm sorry that it's so painful, but I get it. I didn't like Adam much either. I would keep reading for Kenji hahaha.
I *try* not to get distracted by the newer books. I try to remember why I bought my current books/series to start with - because I was excited for them. But it's easy to get distracted by the latest and greatest. :) Of your list, I've only read the Shatter Me series which I enjoyed a lot. I've been meaning to read the Grisha trilogy for ages but just haven't started it yet.

ME TOO. But then it just never works, and then once I get the new book, I look for MORE NEW BOOKS. Such a vicious cycle. You should start the Grisha series!!! :D
I try not to get distracted by the newer books, but I definitely do if a series is unable to hold my interest. :( I read Mistborn but couldn't get into the 2nd book so I abandoned it until I'm in the mood for it again. I definitely recommend finishing the Grisha series! I really enjoyed it. And if you already own the second book...why not? :P AND FINISH SAGA. I'm not sure if Volume 5 is the end (I hope not!) but it's such a great story.

Awwwww but Mistbornnnnnnnn. No I understand it is a super long book. I even am putting off Hero of Ages because I don't want to deal with more of the politics :P

I really hope Volume 5 is not the end! I was just assuming it was through the single issues shown on Goodreads!
