Ten Characters You Just Didn't Click With

Click with as in they were too boring for me? Written poorly? Or just didn't like at all? I guess I will just put them all in my list, I suppose. Though honestly, I will stick to main characters, unless I remember a minor character very well. Usually I end up forgetting these characters within a week of reading the book.

Dave from Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid - His reasoning for, oh I guess basically everything love related, is horrible. He just doesn't deserve love, at all.

Ashley from We Are All Made of Molecules by Susan Nielsen - I hated Ashley. She was a bully and rarely learned from her mistakes. Also she sounds like a ten year old, and not a high school freshman.

Twylla from Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury - SHE DOESN'T EVEN TRY. It also doesn't help I can't pronounce her name (Also, sorry Shannon)

Austin from Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith - All he thinks about is being horny, and sex, and I just can't.

Anna and St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins - MAKE ALL THE CHEATING STOP PLEASE. Ugh.

Liz Emerson from Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang - I love the story, but I just can't ever support a bully.

Meghan from The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa - Because she makes some dumb mistakes sometimes, and also the way everyone is in love with her is just ick.

Jarra from Earth Star by Janet Edwards - I'm pretty sure she makes the perfect Mary Sue. NOTHING GOES WRONG, and if it does, it's not even a big deal.

Prenna from The Here and Now by Ann Brashares - Cue headdesk.

Everyone from The Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling - I don't ever want to see this book again.

Well that escalated quickly. What do you think? Have you heard of any of these characters?

Bwhahah poor Twylla. (I pronounced it like TWI-lah but I could be wrong. I am likely wrong.) I have Liz Emerson on my list too, because she sucks at life- like she actually does, not even just as a phrase. DYING at your reason for Dave too! Did you review The Casual Vacancy? If so, I need to read that review, please and thank you. This list is fabulous!

Hahahha sorry Shannon. And no I did not review The Casual Vacancy but I can do that now in a few short sentences:

Stupid book with all telling and no showing about characters I could care less about in a boring town where nothing happens and it was stupid stupid stupid. We are not allowed to speak of said book in my university book club, because of how horrible it was, and it has become an inside joke.
Oh I loved Anna and St. Claire!! But I totally get the whole cheating thing and such. I haven't read the rest but have heard lots of crappy things about the characters in Never Always Sometimes. Great list!

Thanks Grace! Hahah yeah I was not a fan with either books/characters!
YES to Anna and St. Clair. I really disliked this book and the characters.

GLAD TO SEE YOU AGREE!!
I totally agree with you on Anna! I liked the book enough, but I didn't find it amazing because of my own morality. I just really dislike using cheating to advance a romance. I know that love is messy and it made it realistic, but I really couldn't stand that. And I think there is also a reason I have not read the majority of these books.

Hahaha there is a GOOD reason why you haven't read most of them. And I loved the fact that the setting was in Paris, but other than that, the characters kind of pissed me off. I am afraid of reading the sequels because I know I won't like the cheating (again)
I've never read The Casual Vacancy, but that's kind of crazy everyone in the book is a terrible character after she created so many wonderful ones in Harry Potter!

DON'T READ ITTTT.

Just kidding you can read it. But I warned you :P
Oh no, I just reserved Earth Star from the library! I liked Jarra in Earth Girl, so I hope I don't end up disliking her too....

I liked her in Earth Girl too! I don't know I think I just couldn't take her in more than one book. Yet even though I say this I am going to read Earth Flight, because aliens.
Bleh, totally agree about your opinion on Anna and Falling into Place. Both has a relatively enjoyable story but I simply just couldn't tolerate what the characters did *sigh* I'm sort of glad that in the end Liz changed for the better though.

Yeah I liked the ending for Falling Into Place, so that was a plus!
Ughhhh so much hate for St. Clair and also for Anna for letting him walk all over her. *glares at everyone* Did you read the other two books?

I read about 60 pages of The Casual Vacancy and couldn't take it. I felt as if someone was stomping all over my childhood! I'm still not 100% over it.

NO I did not, and I don't know if I WANT to, you know? Because I've heard that it's the same type of morals?

Ugh I feel you. At least you didn't read the entire book! Because that just didn't..end up well....
I actually LOVED Lola and the Boy Next Door, and Isla was pretty cute, too. They might be worth a try, but there are also hundreds of other books you could read instead. :)
I tried reading The Sin Eater's Daughter but I just couldn't get into it. A lot of these I don't have any real plans on reading so I feel like I won. Lol. Great list!

Hahaha you did win! Thanks Jazmen!
I HATED ANNA. AND ST.CLAIR! And I am glad that I am not the only one!

I am surprised to know that the characters from Casual Vacancy were terrible. Considering the fact that the book is written by the same woman who created a well loved universe and awesome characters!

GOOD GOOD GOOD

What do you mean surprised? Oh I see. Yeah it just.....she wanted to write about people from a small town, and that's what happened. Gah.
Liz is a great choice! I totally forgot about her!

Yeah I liked her character characters but couldn't really go along with her morals in the beginning!
