Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
This week, I got a huge pile of books ready to be read, and I have no idea if I'll be able to get to all of them. BUT STILL. I have them and they are mine, except for the library books.
I have a dog.
I've never had a dog before.
Well, it's not my dog personally, but me and my roommates somehow scored a doggy! Here's the story. The dog we are getting was found by one of my roommate’s mother’s co-workers. It was just sitting there in front of a store, with no lease or tag or anything. When she asked inside the store, a worker said that the dog had been sitting there for hours. In the end, she took the dog home and reported it as lost.
Basically, no one claimed the dog, no one picked up the phone that was left by the tracking chip inside the dog. And although there’s a senile lady saying she knows the dog, she’s also telling two different stories, one in that she gave the dog to her daughter, and the other in that she put the dog down. Even so, she has not claimed it.
So now he's ours! And his name is Ollie! And he is old, but adorable!
So yeah. AMAZING WEEK. Busy, but it's now Fall Break and I have Monday and Tuesday off! Yay!

I actually finally, finally, FINALLY bought Throne of Glass from Amazon like I said I was going to, a month ago.
And then the next book on my must-buy list was Anna and the French Kiss, which is why I also bought a copy of that as well. SO YES.
Then there's this beautiful hardcover, Cress, which I will be buddy reading with Holly @ Part of Your World, because we are both awesome. And also I finished Scarlet, so good thing I have this!
And with the release of the paperback of The Dream Thieves, I bought that as well!
My book club book for the month is I Am The Messenger, who is by the same author that wrote The Book Thief! So I'm expecting awesomeness.
And I could not help myself in the library, and also picked up Parallel as well. This has been on my TBR for so long and I can finally read it now!
I also discovered the beautiful-ness of the online, digital library, which apparently is also linked to Amazon. Basically, the library I'm with now not only has a huge YA collection in print, but also online as well! And I can send them to my Kindle, which I didn't know I could do!
So because of that, I borrowed The Falconer from the library.
Also, apparently there are books on hold online as well, which doesn't make sense because it's an ebook? I just don't understand why it's like that, but I'll request something and see what happens.
GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS I GOT APPROVED FOR BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE!
I honestly don't know how this happened, but good thing I bought The Dream Thieves off Amazon, because I had no idea this was going to happen? In any case, thank you Scholastic for sending me Blue Lily, Lily Blue!

I'd definitely expect awesomeness from I am the Messenger. It's really different from the Book Thief, but just as emotional. And Cress is so much fun!

Oh gosh, I love all your books! And YAY, Throne of Glass, I love that book so much :D Oooh, this reminds me, I ordered Anna and the French Kiss on Thursday, probably won't show up for a week or so. Hope we both love the book now, teehee!
I’m soooo jealous you have Cress already! I loved Scarlet, but… I sort of unconsciously decided to hold off buying Cress until early next year since Winter won’t be released until the end of 2015. I’m not capable of waiting that long!! (The wait times in the Throne of Glass series will be torture enough!) Enjoy all your new books, Val!! Hope you love them all!

And wow! What a fantastic haul! <3 I absolutely adored Throne of Glass and Cress when I read them a little while ago, and I hope you end up enjoying them as much as I did! Can't wait to see what you think of them! And I'm definitely waiting to see your thoughts on Anna and the French Kiss too - I've been putting it off despite the glowing reviews since it's chick lit, which isn't something I normally read; but if you end up adoring it I'll probably be persuaded to give it a try. ;)
AND OMG! YOU LUCK DUCK FOR GETTING BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE! I hope it lives up to your expectations Val! <3
Happy reading!

AND GOOD JOB, VAL, YOU FINALLY HAVE THRONE OF GLASS. YAAAAAY!!!! NOW STEP #2 IS YOU MUST LOVE THE BOOK. Although I won't hurt you if you don't. I promise. I will be very forgiving. *whistles as sharpens axe* JUST KIDDING! I have friends who didn't like Throne of Glass, and most of them are still alive. That's good statistics, right?
Cress is gorgeous. Absolutely GORGEOUS.

THE COVER IS BEAUTIFUL. I already thought it looked great on Goodreads, but in real life it looks SO much better. And ahhh, Throne of Glass! So I didn't find it as mind-blowing as nearly everyone else did, but still enjoyed it quite a bit. The only issue I really had was how un-assassin-like Celaena was. Everyone's telling me that her brutal side shows a lot more in Crown of Midnight, though, which I still need to read. Anywhooo, I hope you enjoy ToG! Can't wait to hear what you think of Anna as well -- it's been on my to-read list for way too long. xD
Out of all the new books you got this week, I've only read Parallel, which I LOVED. I know it's either a hit or miss for most readers, though, so I'm crossing my fingers really hard that you'll enjoy it! It's basically intriguing sci-fi plus good romance and a bunch of life lessons thrown in... sounds perfect, right?! It pretty much is. And eeeep, congrats on getting approved for Blue Lily, Lily Blue!!! I didn't even know it was up on NetGalley but now I'm gonna go request it and pray that I'll get approved as well. I've just been waiting for this day for too long. I need more Gansey and Blue and Ronan!
CUTE DOGGIE. He'll be fun to cuddle up with while reading a book!
