Stacking the Shelves #10 (Also, The Worst Week Ever)

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Thank you Algonquin Books for The Future for Curious People. Paula @ Her Book Thoughts mentioned how good it was, so I am willing to give it a try.

Then I have the blog tour for Raven on Tuesday. Thanks Giselle @ Xpresso Reads.

And got The Emperor's Soul on my kindle, which is turning out to be really awesome.
(On that note, The Way of Kings is free on Amazon. Please go get it, if it's still free)

Guys

This week has been horrible

I am so frustrated with everything. And I'm about to rant about it. Feel free to skip this sad note. Aha.

On Thursday, I got an email from Chase about fraud, in the middle of class. I literally rushed out of class because I found out $950 was taken from my bank account.

I got it all taken care of at Chase, but it will still take a couple of days for the money to be taken care of. I have $-3 to my name now.

And when I thought everything was going to be ok, my car stalled.

I had to get it towed back to my house, and tomorrow, I will be getting it towed to a mechanic to hopefully find out what is wrong, and not get ripped off.

So yeah.

That's it.

Yay! I also got The Emperor's Soul this week for the read along. Oh no, I am already behind. I don't know if I can still catch up. Perhaps, I will not participate in tomorrow's twitter discussion because I might look like a total derp not knowing what to say. LOL.

Hey, I am really sorry that you have a pretty bad week. I am not familiar with Chase though. Is it a bank? OMG! 950$ is already a lot. T_T I hope you'll get your money soon.

Here's to hoping that the succeeding week will be good to you. :D

That SUCKS. And here I'm moping because I had a sucky week not finding many good books to read BUT YOU HAD A LEGIT SUCKY WEEK. I'm sorry. *offers consoling chocolate cake* I get frantic when I lose $2, so I can't imagine losing nearly a thousand...even if it is coming back.

I'm so sorry to hear of your bad week! That's okay, this week wasn't that great for me too. I hope good things happen next :) I can't believe $950 would be taken from your bank account :O I'd get really upset if that ever happened!!

Ahhhh, hope your next week goes better!! *hugs*

Wow, you got some SCARY looking books up there. And while magical realism doesn't always work for me (Murakami....), The Future for Curious People sounds REALLY interesting :) Happy reading~

Btw, love the new look (your pink rabbit reminds me a bit of Kumagoro :D

I'm sorry about your week. :( Hopefully the money situation is straightened up quick! I bet there is something good around the corner to balance out the bad!

Also thanks for the tip about Way of Kings. :)

OMG. $950?!? THAT IS RIDICULOUS! I am so sorry that happened to you Val - I can't imagine what that would be like! I hope it gets sorted out and that you get your money back!

At least you got a pretty good haul though, right? ;) Raven and The Emperor's Soul both look pheonominal, so I hope they end up being as creepy as they look - LOL!

Thanks for sharing Val, and hopefully next week is better! <3

Oh no, what a horrible week for you! Luckly, next one'll be much much better I'm sure. ;) But oh gosh that must have been awful. At least you got some lovely books there....right? The Way of Kings if free?? I would download it but it kind of has too many pages for me to read it on kindle. :P Great haul though! :)

Oh my god that sounds horrible Val, I can't believe you were a victim of fraud! I am so sorry and it's infuriating how the bank takes long to resolve it. That's happened to me before , but no way at that volume. I hope you will get your money back soon.

Oh holy crap, how on earth were they able to drain your bank account? If your online bank account was hacked, I'm pretty sure it's the banks responsibility to replace the funds as long as your account was secure and the password wasn't something easy to guess. I'm so sorry this has happened to you, I can only image how violated you must feel :(

So sorry about your terrible week! I hope it all gets fixed.

Sorry about your week, Val, that sounds pretty horrible. You deserve to rant, my friend. :<
Also, WHAT THE HECK HOW DID I NOT SEE THIS NEW BLOG DESIGN. I know I say this about all your blog designs, but this one is awesome! I have a thing for beautiful yet simple blog layouts and you nailed it with this one, dude. Great job!
I remember reading like the first chapter of The Emperor's Soul or something and absolutely loving it. The magic system is definitely cool, I need to finish that story sometime soon. Enjoy!

Aw, I am SO sorry about your awful week :( It always seems that these things have to happen all at the same time, just to keep piling it on. I am glad that the money stuff did get taken care of, and my fingers will be crossed that the car situation isn't too dire (car repairs are evil. Just evil). The Future of Curious People seems kind of cool, hopefully you'll enjoy the new books, and I am really hoping that this week is better for you!
