Top Ten Tuesday #25

Hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Top Ten Authors I've Only Read One Book From & Need to Read More!

Do you know how never-ending this list is???? I always, always, ALWAYS, read one book per author, which honestly needs to stop because I have read so many great books. I just never follow up with more, because I like to start fresh.

I will try to narrow it down to only 10 though. HA.

I'll put the author first, then a book I HAVE read by them, and one that I desperately want to read next.

Maggie Stiefvater - Author of The Raven Boys

I desperately need to read the next book after The Raven Boys, aka The Dream Thieves just because Blue Lily, Lily Blue is coming out soon and I must not fall behind! Another book by her I really also want to read is The Scorpio Races, because it just looks so epic!

A. G. Howard - Author of Splintered

I have YET TO READ Unhinged, I mean I did take it out of the library that one time, but had to return it simply because I was traveling back to school. If I do get a library card here (I'm such a wimp with adult social stuff), then I'll definitely request it!

Marissa Meyer - Author of Cinder

I am currently reading Scarlet now, but I've only gotten through the first 70 pages! Anyways, I WANT MORE. I want to read everything Marissa Meyer has written, because let me tell ya, she does a fantastic job with her writing style, showing rather than telling. It is GREAT.

Markus Zusak - Author of The Book Thief

The Book Thief was one of my favorite reads of last year, AND IT WAS SO WELL DONE. I definitely want to read his other book, I Am The Messenger, just because I also heard it was really good.

Haruki Murakami - Author of The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle

I used to be obsessed with trying to read all of Haruki Murakami's books, but then I stopped after the first book I read by him. I'm not sure why, I mean it was good, but if I had to put this in a genre, it's definitely literature that has tons of deep meaning connected to it. But I do want to read Kafka on the Shore!

Leigh Bardugo - Author of Shadow and Bone

I LOVED Shadow and Bone, but just haven't gotten to Siege and Storm yet for some unknown reason! But it is on my shelf, so I will get to finishing this trilogy soon!

Susanna Kearsley - Author of The Firebird

I did like The Firebird, I did. But I think I only gave it 3 stars just because. But I still want to read The Winter Sea, because Susanna Kearsley does write some good historical fiction, and I heard this other book by hers is amazing!

Lauren Oliver - Author of Delirium

I seriously need to read more of Lauren Oliver's books, because even though I did like Delirium, I'm not sure if I'll continue the series. But I do want to read Panic!

THIS SERIES. It's really good for a children's series, though I had to get used to the writing style for the first book. But it's very "fairy-tale" like in style, and I loved it tons! I need to read the sequel though, which is again another long title I don't feel like writing out!

Stacey Rourke - Author of Crane (The Legends Saga)

LOOK AT THIS NEW AND UPCOMING AUTHOR. This series seriously needs to be more popular because it's pretty good! I'll be reading Raven sometime this week for a blog tour next week!

Finally, I am done. Feel free to link up TTT's!

I finished this during stats class this morning, I feel like a badass :P

Ooh, Unhinged! How I NEED that book!! Both A.G. Howard and Marissa Meyer are on my list this week. I WILL read more of their books someday soon! Can’t wait to see what you think of Siege and Storm. I liked, but didn’t love Shadow and Bone – I’ll read S&S at some stage, I just need to know if I should plan on reading it sooner than I think, LOL! And Crane! I’ve had my eye on it for so long. It looks like a really good creepy Halloween read. Definitely think I’ll have to get it soon. Great list, Val!

Panic is the opposite of Delirium! It's crudely written and just doesn't capture the beautiful spirit of Delirium. Those are the only two Oliver books I've read so far; I will give Rooms a try, though.

I'm currently listening to The Raven Boys and enjoying it! I'm halfway through! I also liked Shiver and I have that series on my kindle (except for Sinner) so I need to read to get on that too! Oh my gosh, I have Shadow and Bone, Splintered and Cinder on audio and it has been there for months now, I really need to start listening to them soon. I tend to buy it them on sale but never listen -.- boo me!

Lauren Oliver made my list, too. I've only read Before I Fall, but I love the way the author writes and it makes me want to read more of her books.

I saw that you liked Crane and added it to my list -- it looks pretty neat! Also, I don't know what I Am The Messenger is about, but The Book Thief was so good that I should probably give it a shot.

Also, go get your library card!!!!

Definitely read Lauren Oliver! Even if you are iffy on Delirium, Before I Fall was amazing! I enjoyed Panic too. And finish the Grisha series! I loved it so much :) I have to get my act together and read the rest of your list though! Like Cinder, and The Book Thief. Great list!

AH ha! We are twins for Markus Zusak and Leigh Bardugo. ^-^ And I definitely think you need to read more of A.G. Howard and Marissa Meyer and SARAH J MAAS WHO IS NOT ON YOUR LIST BUT I NEED TAKE EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO BUG YOU ABOUT IT UNTIL YOU JUST READ IT. BECAUSE I AM THAT KIND OF NICE FRIEND. *nods* I actually own The Girl Who etc. but I still haven't tried it yet. I've heard such mixed things I'm scared. Hehe.

I realised today that I haven't commented on your blog forever and I felt really bad so...HI VAL! How are you? How's the weather up there? (I'm clearly amazing at non-book related talk) BUUUUT, yes- you need to read more Maggie Stiefvater because she's amazing. Seriously though - DO THAT NOW. I did have something else to say but then I saw Cait's comment and I got distracted...YOU HAVE TO READ THRONE OF GLASS RIGHT NOW. SERIOUSLY. GO. DO IT. DON'T COME BACK UNTIL YOU HAVE. (Too far? Maybe.)

Okay YES you need to read The Dream Thieves AND The Scorpio Races!

Scarlet is my favorite from the Lunar Chronicles! Cress is a close second on that ;) Also: Siege and Storm is my favorite from the Grisha trilogy. SO FAB!

Yes to Stiefvater's The Dream Thieves and The Scorpio Races. The Scorpio Races was a bit of a let down though because the ending was open-ended and I am such a sucker for fully wrapped up endings.

Argh. Why haven't you picked up Scarlet as soon as you finished Cinder? Bwahaaha. Sorry if I sound so demanding but like what you said, Marissa's books are definitely awesome. I actually binge read on Cinder and Scarlet and was so annoyed that I still have to wait for 5 months for Cress to come out. x.x

Haruki Murakami- I've read his After Dark and I swear, I didn't understand what kind of message it's trying to convey. I don't know whether it was horrible or my intellectual capacity is really mediocre.

Awesome list, Val!

Oh man, you have so many good authors listed! I LOVE Marissa Meyer and I NEED to read AG Howard.

Awesome list Val with a great mix up of genres. Unhinged was brilliant, I actually loved it even more than I did Splintered and hopefully you can get your hands on a copy soon (and read it this time) LOL. Personally, I don't think I'd waste my time with the Oliver Lauren stand alones. I really loved Delirium, even book two was still good but the finale was a complete let down. I hated Panic, gosh it was horrid. Stupid kids playing a ridiculous game of who can get themselves killed first. I love thrillers, but well written ones and that was just tragic. Having said that, I can't wait to see which way you fall with that one, most either loved it or loathed it.

Thanks for sharing Val <3
