An Innocent Life #24: The Start of Summer

I seem to somehow skip all the months, and now we are in May. Well, technically tomorrow will be June, AND IT WILL REALLY BE SUMMER. I am not ready. At all.

Recap? Well I am currently dying inside.

What a little lion.

Books Read This Month

Best Book: Uprooted by Naomi Novik (reread)
Worst Book: From Twinkle, With Love by Sandhya Menon (sorry)

I finally read 1984, though Rashika thinks it's not a book to read for fun. WELL NO ONE AGREES WITH YOU. Also I think I hyped Dark Matter in my head, because though it was good, it wasn't amazing? It was some weird shit.

Nice Try, Jane Sinner was an amazing read, and if I didn't love Uprooted so much, it would have been the best book of the month!

Also, how many books did I read this month? *whips out handy dandy spreadsheet* 11 books! (12 if we include that textbook I had to review...FOR MONEY THOUGH)

SPRING SEMESTER IS OVER. Of course that doesn't mean anything except no classes and no student fees, I suppose. I'm going to be working over the summer, so therefore nothing will change. Excited to be sleeping in though.

Other changes. Well I got a fancy, new phone, so that is pretty exciting. And I'm at least trying to blog at least somewhat consistently? Maybe?

I'm hoping that this will be the summer that I do all the things I want to do, and read all the things I want to read. I'm actually gonna be at ALA Annual with my friends, Holly, Shannon, and CJ at the end of June, so that is definitely something to look forward to (also yes father, you are just now hearing about this. I'm an adult now).

HERE'S TO A NEW MONTH!

How was your May? Looking forward to any cool summer releases?

Ahh that's awesome you're going to ALA!! I always love hearing the news/reading the tweets/posts about how awesome those conventions are haha. Also this reminds me how much I want to read Jane Sinner for sure. 😍YAY IT'S JUNE! The year is halfway done! Are we screaming yet! 😂
So. I want to read some of these but should I? Namely, Dark Matter, Space Opera, and um, I think that's it? Because I know what you think of most of the others! Also, ALA in a few days basically. I should really pack or something. Love the Prim pic, too!
Awww that picture is sooo cute! I keep putting Uprooted down, perhaps i should revisit!
Yay for maybe blogging regularly and the end of spring semester. And you got a new phone? I always like getting new tech, don't know what it is but it makes me feel like a big kid with a new toy to play with.

You have quite a few books on here which is awesome, I have Nice Try, Jane Sinner on my TBR because I have seen so many people so good things and if it only got pushed from the favourites spot because of Uprooted (who can blame you, I love that book so much!) then I think I need to invest in a copy. I hope you have a good June and read lots of good books.
I feel like everyone who had huge expectations for Dark Matter ended up being a bit disappointed in the end hahah So glad you got to read 1984 though. One of my favourite classics of all time. Hope your Summer kicked off properly. ;) Happy reading!
It sounds like you had an awesome month, it'd be fun reading about your adventures in ALA so I hope you guys enjoy yourselves! I'm so happy you loved Uprooted, it's one of my favourites.
Summer is supposed to be my slow time at work, but I think someone lied to me! It's hard to keep up reading and blogging while having to be an adult and work fulltime. I've been eyeing uprooted for awhile, maybe I'll get to it sooner rather than later.
Happy summer, Valerie! I hope this will be the summer where you get to do everything you want now that classes are over. Also your cat is precious <3
I have seen your collections from the given link. And I got few ideas for my next business from your article it helps me give me inspirational proprepandfulfillment method, not exactly whole but almost basics which will help me for this, So thanks for all the info which you provide us and keep sharing amazing stuff with us...
That picture of Prim is so, so cute. She especially looks like a lion because of her colouring! I took a photo of my kitty meowing yesterday and I said he looks like a lion, though not really since he's brown and white, haha.

Are you keen for Spinning Silver? I feel like you would be since you liked Uprooted so much!

I hope you had fun at ALA! I always wonder what those things are like, haha. Oh, the woes of living in Australia :P
Excellent website, thanks for informative share about that. I am very glad to find this.
its awesome always love hearing the news
